Distinguished Scholars Brunch

On Saturday, April 1st at the Fayetteville Public Library, Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA hosted 200 attendees for the annual Distinguished Scholars Brunch.

The SPSFNWA program awarded scholarships to seventy-seven exemplary students. The families and businesses who established the scholarships were recognized and provided this special opportunity to become acquainted with their recipients. Scholarship recipients are selected based upon the criteria set by the family or business. All recipients awarded are low-income, single parents who are pursuing higher education as a pathway out of poverty for their families.

Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA and Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County have seventy-seven combined named scholarships. Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA completed the Pathway to Prosperity Endowment Campaign in 2016, which increased its endowment to over $3 million. Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County completed the Marjorie Marugg-Wolfe Sustainability Campaign in 2020, which increased the sustainability funds by $3 million to sustain the organization for years. Named scholarships are awarded annually at the Distinguished Scholars Brunch event.
