DEGREE PROGRAMS

New Applicants

Priority consideration is given to applicants who are pursuing a degree, certificate, or credential at the next level than they have previously achieved, have not earned more than 150 credit hours and have not previously earned a bachelor’s degree. Those with a bachelor’s are encouraged to apply if they are seeking a higher level of education and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if funds are available. In addition, GPA information more than 5 years old will not be considered for purposes of scholarship awards. 

Requirements by Application Deadline

All documents must be received by the deadline to be considered and then invited for an interview.

    • Verification of enrollment in an approved institution (letter of acceptance or schedule for upcoming term)
    • Official transcript from the most recent institution attended 
    • FAFSA Student Aid Report
    • Proof of Income: most recent Tax Form 1040 (1st and 2nd pages only)
    • Copy of valid, unexpired, Arkansas state-issued photo ID
    • One proof of residence (lease, mortgage, utility bill, insurance bill, etc.)
    • Documentation showing legal custody of children (custody agreement, divorce decree or birth certificates)
    • Proof of U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency Status, or resident with DACA Status (certified birth certificate, U.S. passport, certificate of citizenship or DACA documents)

Returning Recipients

SPSFNWA recipients are expected submit a renewal application each term that they wish to remain in the program. 

Requirements by Application Deadline 

All documents must be received by the deadline to be considered and then invited for an interview for Fall semester only.

    • Official transcripts from current school.
      *Please note: an OFFICIAL transcript must be sealed (unopened) and stamped or signed by the registrar.   EScript-safe transcripts will be accepted. PDF Transcript will be accepted directly from the school and emailed to your PD.
    • A copy of valid, unexpired, Arkansas state-issued photo ID. International students must submit a green card which indicates their status as a legal resident, and expiration dates.
    • A copy of your most recent federal tax return (form 1040, first two pages).

Credentialing & Workforce Development (CWD) Programs

New Applicants

All documents must be received for an interview will be scheduled.

CWD Returning Applicants

If a recipient applies for another CWD that is at the next level, they must submit the following:

    • Copy of the Certification from program for previous CWD awarded
    • Most recent Tax returns
    • Copy of valid, unexpired, Arkansas state-issued photo ID
