A Look Back at 2024: Celebrating 40 Years of Empowering Single Parents

As we reflect on a remarkable year, we are filled with gratitude and pride for what we’ve accomplished together in 2024. At Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas (SPSFNWA), our mission remains clear: Changing lives by encouraging personal success through higher education. And thanks to your generous support, we did just that.

40 Years of Impact

In 2024 alone, we awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships to 253 hardworking single parents. With your support, we helped recipients not only pursue degrees, credentials, and workforce training but also thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

By the Numbers

  • 1,816 scholarships awarded
  • $2.6 million in total support raised
  • Top majors: Nursing, Business, Education, Social Work, Radiological Sciences
  • Average recipient GPA: 3.36
  • 452 children supported through recipient families
  • 34% increase in applications from 2023

These numbers tell a story of resilience and transformation.

Beyond the Scholarship

Our support goes far beyond financial assistance. In 2024, we strengthened holistic services that help single-parent families thrive:

  • Mental health counseling: 277 sessions offered at no cost through our in-house counselor
  • 399 pantry visits providing essentials not covered by SNAP or WIC
  • Birthday boxes, bikes, and holiday support for children
  • 173 family event tickets for community outings and celebrations

The Work Ahead

As we continue into 2025 and beyond, we are inspired to keep building. We aim to reach more families, deepen our impact, and expand access to wraparound support services. But we cannot do it without you.

Your gifts of time, resources, and advocacy continue to change lives.

From all of us at SPSFNWA—THANK YOU to all of our donors, volunteers, and community for the amazing support over the past 40 years and beyond.
