Building For Success

Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA is passionately committed to empowering single parents through the transformative power of education. As we continue to grow, we’re thrilled to unveil our latest campaign—Building for Success! This new campus will be a nurturing and inspiring space where our recipients can flourish both academically and personally. Explore our flipbook to discover all the exciting details about this project. We invite you to join us in bringing this vision to life. Thank you for your unwavering support!

In 1984, co-founders Marjorie Marugg-Wolfe and Ralph Nesson had a vision to award scholarships to families in Benton and Washington counties to provide hope and encouragement. Fifteen families benefited from the initial award of $200 per semester. Now, full-time recipients receive $2,500 per semester.

For many years, Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Washington County and Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County operated seperately; however, in 2021 the two organizations merged to serve Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties.

Mabee Foundation’s $1 million challenge grant

On May 20th, 2026, SPSFNWA met the Mabee Foundation’s $1 Million Challenge Grant!

Thanks to generous community support, $6.67 million of the $7.4 million needed to break ground has been raised. To complete the Building for Success Capital Campaign SPSFNWA needs to raise an additional $721,961.

Your gift today can make a difference. Every donation brings us one step closer to revolutionizing how we serve, support and empower single-parent scholars right here in Northwest Arkansas.
